Newborns can be really challenging to manage! Postpartum is a mystery for most new parents, and often the grandparents or family members (or besties!) that support them. Breastfeeding can be time consuming and often require extensive support. Not being able to soothe a fussy baby can really shake your confidence. Couples can also really struggle with their teamwork— often with little help available (although a plethora of advice and information overload online). For all of these reasons, ABC offers in person and live virtual classes, as well as self paced online courses for families that want a class on their time schedule (like when their baby isn’t crying) or if they live out of town.

When Someone You Love Gives Birth

Kimberly will take you through her brand new course for Grandparents-to-be or anyone expecting to support a new family, highlighting all the modern newborn approaches that will help you update your wisdom and experience with the new evidence based practices on postpartum and newborn care. Based on feedback from thousands of clients, this class can also help you connect and support the gatekeepers of the cuteness—your grown kids or family members. Know Your Newborn

Virtual Course | $97

Clients have told us for years that they weren’t ready for how much their baby cried. That they were mystified about their baby’s movements, sounds, sleep patterns, and that they wish they would have learned more about infants before welcoming theirs. This class was created to help prepare new parents know what is coming so they can be confident! It is all about how newborns signal their needs, how you can soothe them, meet their needs, and get more sleep. This class is fully virtual and organized into a series of 5-10 min segments to consume quickly. Kimberly has condensed down 20 years of caring for babies into a short course that will make you a confident baby whisperer in less than 2 hours.

Preparing Your Home for Baby

Virtual Course | $125

Our clients often request help setting up their nursery, their baby registry, and feel overwhelmed with what to buy (and what will really help them). We set this class up just for these concerns, as doulas can often sift through helpful vs. wasteful gear for new babies. This is a 1.5 hour in-person or Zoom class, often taken earlier in pregnancy (12-25 weeks) to help families figure out what gear is needed and helpful in each unique home setting. Planning efficient spaces for baby gear, going over what is needed and what is not, and helping sort through registry choices can all be covered in this class.

Baby Care for Multiples

Private Virtual Class | $250

While we offer a group class through Providence called TWINS AND MORE, we also offer a private class also taught by Kimberly virtually via Zoom for those who can’t get to Portland to experience it hands-on. Classes are 3-4 hours and cover twin or triplet specific feeding techniques as well as all the hands on baby skills, including tandem holding, tandem feeding, and tandem babywearing. The group class is available through the Providence website, but in the private class we customize and condense it to just what you will specifically need and answer your unique questions.

The Spa Bath | $10
