It Can be Tough

The season matters too. Sometimes you are in a season of plenty, where your kids love and appreciate you so much. And sometimes you are in a desert of appreciation, where your kids take you for granted and demand more of you than you can spare (or should spare).
I agree with Ricki Lake. It's a good gig, but whoa, it is hard sometimes.
