Feeling Broken After Birth?

When birth breaks you, doulas are there.

Although the general cesarean section rate is 30%, our client rate is much higher because those moms often need more support than a typical vaginal birth. Also our clients who experience more interventions have more to heal from afterward, and that takes time and support. They are stuck searching online for a solution, not always knowing where to look for help.

We strive for families to have choices in their birth, have great caregivers (including birth doulas!) surrounding them to help them through the hardest parts, and to have responsive providers that listen to their concerns. But even with all of these, birth can be unpredictable, and sometimes leave us feeling broken.
We don't want families to fear these things, but when they do happen, we want them to know help is available. How many years have I heard "No one told me I could get someone to come take care of me." Or, "I have never heard of a doula AFTER birth."

All over the US (and more in every corner of the world!) there are doulas available to support you after baby arrives. If you are sore, hurting, immobile, vulnerable, or recovering from something you didn't expect, call a doula. It helps. Promise.
